Does it matter if you like it or not? Does it matter if fate showers you with its by-products? You know there is no choice, so rather than lament about the utter nonsense you see, view it with a positive attitude and delude yourself happy. A meaningful life in here may just be within grasp.

NS life can be tough, and the toughest of all is to stay vigilant. Have you checked your pockets? Did your evil opponent tried to frame you? Have you yourself missed that part in which your future may be at stake? I know I did, and fortunately I only had to share this with you. When they say, “Check your pockets for any items!” You check, thoroughly. When they say, “Repeat after me,” repeat after them. Follow simple instructions and ignoring your ego babbling is the simplest way one can lead a carefree NS life.

Although they repeatedly stated the hunger for 'thinking soldiers', you and I know it stops at 'thinking exactly like the commanders' level. If you think something is wrong when they think its right, you're probably wrong. They have the experience and training to analyse situations beyond your imaginations. Do not let your words move faster than theirs, or you may end up jeopardising your team-mates' lives. Question only things like, “Are you sure lunch is at 12pm?” when you already know its 1145.

Finally, integrity is the key. A man cannot survive without integrity, let alone a soldier. Human trust is based on a weak structure of assumptions, which evolved to be laws. Hence, if one breaks this delicate bond, he breaks it forever. A stupid way to gain infamy and distrust among everyone, I suppose, in exchange for objects of incomparable value. Without integrity, one cannot possibly expect himself to stand in the open without getting shot at.

Ergo, a meaningful life in your camp is possible. Make it a short, happy 2 years in your life. Or it may be unpleasant, and longer too.
