06122910 Nuclear Winter
Much as it is a shivering day, so it was complicated. Changes took on like an endless tunnel which I had to go through. My foresight would have failed me if it were a bit worse.
I, for one, have seen through some of Jove's real intentions. At least I know he by no means wishes to reclaim the planet. For the past few days, Jove requested Prof. Hephaestus and Minerva to complete a blueprint for an interspace travel vehicle. For centuries, such a vehicle has never been constructed. With little information and technology to start with, it proved to be a more difficult task than the shield generator itself. I helped them as much as possible, with my knowledge of thermodynamics in space and certain safety aspects. The blueprint should be done in a few days' time.
Delphi, on the other hand, met with personal problems. Madame Leto, his mother, came down with a serious illness, which even Delphi had problems terminating. Madame Leto refused to be time-frozen into immortality, but told Delphi of a twin sister which she gave away. He was tasked to find her sister, no matter how little clues he had. He cannot have denied her dying wish.
My brother's utter stupidity added to the troubles too. I deny any politics of envy here, for there is no reason to envy him. Moreover, his mundane practicality had destroyed my idea of a perfect family far too many times. So often does he try to sell my inventions to a scrap collector that I could not have reclaimed the cost, and he still lives off me for these years. The final straw came when he stole a vial of my 'immortality solution' I concocted a few days ago in Delphi's laboratory. Not knowing the use of the unlabelled contents, I fear the liquid falling into the wrong hands. I will duely note to put him into a long sleep should he return, with or without the vial.
Young Merc, who was the most carefree of the few of us, now loathe his dreadfully short career. His projects on automating the terraformers had failed again, though it is only the second day of his work. It seemed that his programming was incompatible with the hardware governed by the space-warpping principles. What could be wrong? If this reconcilation of technologies cannot be done even by Merc, how can the human race realise the dream of regaining our planet?(Not that Jove wants anything to do with that.) The short of intelligent manpower renders it impossible.
Problems are arising everyday, yet solutions appear too late. I envisioned results by the end of this month, but reality oft proved otherwise. With the incoming ancient joyous holiday, hopefully something could be done, as a present to humanity, maybe.
