Such power in my hands. Such fiery temptations that will threaten to burn my fingers and palm if I were not careful. But why should I be afraid? Who, other than me, can wield this colossal strength in my hands? The ancient despots of the Priests and Priestesses? Or even the leaders of the Republic itself? I think not. The spotlight shines on me alone.

The power of the Republic has been ailing, and what it needs is a luciferian twist. The slack nature of man requires a tight grip now. Why should I fear the liberals? Their union is based on a property which will corrupt them inevitably - freedom of ideas. Soon they will fight over what they want, and their brittle front will be dissolved. History has shown that fact really well, hasn't it?

What a Machiavellian man like me required was just "The Prince" of today. Indeed. What better profession to teach a conqueror than a conqueror himself? While I stare into the Council City bedizened by the halogen tubes, images from the first days of the Republic came to my mind. The toga of intellect adorned the legend as he led the seniors of my current subordinates to the exuberant prosperity it was at the height of its power, all with just operators and variables. Even my success was part of his mathematics.

Deep within my respect for him lies a disturbing query: Will I remain within his predictions, and follow whatever he meant me to be? I will not. I want something different. I want more power. Dico...me...DEUS!
