So it begins. The much anticipated struggle for power between the states. There has been no difference after independence of any state: The Commercialised Rafflesian State, Republic of Hwac, Technotopian State of Tema, Natio Federation or even the great Victorian Empire. What we as citizens know is democracy and independence. What I, as a journalist, know is that after independence, there will be stupid wars and battles. The leaders we elected will fight everything in their way, but we are the ones to suffer.

Our charismatic leaders have shown great qualities in many ways, and such charisma binds us to them. We are to obey them and fight for them, so the propaganda says. However, they have forgotten that beyond loyalty to the government, there is conscience. One cannot dominate others minds and force them to abandon their conscience. Such is the beauty of free will and morality. Yet the ubermenschof our states find various ways to trap our beautiful mind into a small cage, directing it to the place they want us to be. As such, the stupid becomes the loyal, and the brutal becomes the specialists. How flattering the Republic has become, and how crooked.

Such a crooked state has borne us the perfect time to conquer. The Republic sends her people far beyond the reaches of our land, into neighbouring states. While we await the sounds of victory( or the cries of defeat), we sit and think: Is it necessary? War is never necessary, unless the aggressor is a moron( which, of course, is, for most cases). We can sing the songs of joy, yet our hearts are not filled with happiness. For we seek freedom, not stupidity, or worse, crooked loyalty. Free us, those from above, and let us see the light again. Never do I want to see the Second Republic in peril, or violence unnecesary.
