One may not remember the beginning of the world, but I do. The first of us were sent onto this island-world by an unknown force which we now worship - The Moe. Chaotic as it was, we brought order to the various regions shortly after arrival. We built cities after cities, receiving the people handed to us by the mysterious force. Some of them became devout believers of our Force; others ran to the semi-converted regions, which bestowed upon themselves the power to rule. Singpol, Tempol, NgeeAnnpol and Nanyangpol, the 4 regions called themselves, for 'Pol' in the native tongue meant 'fortress', and it is these fortresses that hinder the progress of conversion. We had our own counterparts, of course, - the Juncols. Named after the native tongue for 'young states', the Juncol organisation first comprised of 5 cities - Raffles, Hwac, Tema, Natio and Victoria. Then began the Juncol crusades. I was young during those times, when drastic changes were in effervescence. The Moe granted easy access to transcendence, a process in which upon leaving this world allows individuals to be born in a world of the highest order which the Moe could ever exert control over. To both Juncols and Pols, it was paradise.
Inevitably, the policy worked. More and more people came under our wings. Overpopulation forced us to build new cities and more. There was Nanyang, at the Northeastern region of the world. It was meant to be an opposing force to the stronghold of Nanyangpol. In many ways it resembled Hwac and Tema in both culture and language, for they spoke a tongue rarely heard of in cities like Raffles or Victoria. I know that tongue too, for it is the tongue of the Elders. Long had our ancestors spoken it, yet its importance diminished through time, and finally disappeared in certain cities.
That is of course not of concern to us. We seek new cities to speak the standard language, as with Raffles, Victoria and half of Natio. Settlers constructed Angloc, our first city in the Near West. Developed as a resort for the richer citizens, it has turned into a city languid in the least. Cathos was another. Meant to be the most religious of all states, things changed in the mindsets of its people.
We explored the south as well. Barren without a single city, we tried to regenerate a fundamentalist state. Yet the mandatory bounds of the city governance were not as strict as that of Cathos. For we, the priests and priestesses of Moe have learnt that a lucid iron fist never worked with people. S-Andes we named it, and we named it well.
The war did not end of course. The Far lands were unclaimed, and to accomplish that, we built Jur, Yish and Tampi on the Far West, Far North and Far East. They were constructed with brave souls, yet the cities were just too far away. Seldom have we heard from the 3 cities of their progress for quite a long time, during the War of Hwac. In response to the lost of news, another frontier was built south of Yish – Anderson. As it seemed now, the city of Anderson flourished more successfully than many other city-states. A boost of morale, and another hope, it became.
In the recent years, we created Pion, the city of the Western shores, and then famous Meridian, the city of revolution. Our last bet came upon the sportsmen's city, Innova. What else can we know of their future? Await, and see.
