~ 9:23 PM ~
Dear Citizens of the Republic,
I am happy that many of you have come together to celebrate this occasion. Yes, today is my birthday. I am honored that this day is also proclaimed as a National Holiday. This would mean another day to rest for all of you. It is my priviledge to serve the Republic well, and to be a Citizen of this marvelous state. Although I am very delighted that all of you remember my humble birthday, I cannot express my gratitude in spoken words. Therefore I shall substitute my speech with a letter of thanks.
It has been a few months since the formation of the Republic, and all of us has fought well, for the results seen is the best proof of all. In less than a year, we managed to beat our enemy, hold elections and enjoy the life in a free country. Those, my fellow friends, are the purposes we so sought. And we will not take all this for granted. Being the pioneers of a democracy, we value liberation more than any other thing. Perhaps other things about the Republic will change, but never will the freedom of our people be compromised.
Just as I am happy here, about 1/365 of the population is also happy. It is their birthday too. Today's celebrations shall not only be mine, but for all of us. For we all are the Republic's founders! Who among us did not fight to regain rights? Who was not happy of our victory not long before? I, for one, am proud of this nation, for it has progressed fast and furiously. May it be so when we celebrate this day every year.
I have no selfish wish this year, but a simple request. I seek a Newton's Cradle, for it is important to me as any office desk toy I could ever have. And for this I could not speak. If anyone could tell me where I could find one locally, I would be eternally grateful.
As part of the celebration today, I wish all of you a happy day and life. Meridian Ad Inifinitum!
Yours Faithfully,
Hephaestus
