R.I.S. Inventions 'Will Enforce Peace' says VP Lee
(Time et Meridiana B/B/05 GMT18:00)
During the annual Republic's Institutes of Science (R.I.S.) fair yesterday, Vice-President Lee referred to the inventions as great things that will "enforce peace" in inter-state businesses. He also revealed the next plans of the Republic, which was to 'induce global harmony', and build a better community.
The R.I.S. fair, held annually, was an integrated fair with many of the inventions put to practical use and on showcase. The "One-Way Mirror Engine", for example, is used to power a Ferris Wheel. As Dr. K. M. Lim had explained, the Engine was based on the fact that if a one-way mirror was made into a box, light will get in but never get out. Thus, more and more energy is stored in the box, and can be used as an energy source. Moreover, you just have to release the energy by creating an opening, then seal it to recharge. This is work at no charge!
Dr. Lim has also showed us the flexible yet firm Bucky-shirt. Made from uniquely manufactured Buckytubes-weaved cloth, the Bucky-shirt provides shielding against almost any external force. "The gigantic C60 structure provides the strength that will even prevent a stab from the back, while the cloth-like flexibility allows the wearer to feel comfortable inside. Hard on the outside, and soft from the inside. Something like a burnt bread, don't you all think?" He joked, and laugh heartily. In the fair, one can see everyone wearing one of those shirts. Moreover, there is a booth where the public can hit a dummy wearing the shirt.
Down at the Biology division, the people crowded round a booth named "Clone Lorz". Dr Lim explained that the cloning technology of the Republic is so high-end, that instantaneous cloning is possible. For once, people can see themselves right, and not just a mirror image. "However," the scientist continued, "it will only last for a few minutes, for safety reasons and the cost of maintaining the form."
As far as one could see in the fair, one does not find the Sociology Division, or more specifically, the newly formed Socio-Mechanics team. It was created not too long ago, after Mr. Hephaestus(soon to be Dr. , then Prof.) published his papers "On Socio-Mechanics" and "On the validity of Mass-Flow predictions". People cannot imagine what impacts the systematic changes Socio-Mechanics can do to our society, and hoped that they could see it in the fair. Sadly, the Socio-Mechanics team seemed to be researching and doing a lot of work, and did not prepare to attend the fair.
Nonetheless, the fair is fun and exciting, and will entice the visitors' brains with the extreme technology that our Republic owns. Tickets are selling at $2 for each booth. Come down now to the City Hall to see it.
